The descendants of Italian citizens protest Game Mafia II

Mafia IICountless works that show the progress of Italian citizens in the United States (U.S.). It is undeniable, the most prevalent of these works is the story of organized criminals aka Mafia.

Similarly, the Mafia II game, a sequel of the game Mafia, which will be published by Take-Two Interactive in late August 2010. Game with the full force of this action was already scooped up a controversy.

Protest at that pc game came from organizations in the U.S. citizens of Italian descent who called Unico. President of Unico, Andre DiMino, said the portrayal of people of Italian descent in the game it was very condescending.

“Take Two is directly, blatantly unfair and discriminatory and demeaning one group from others in the community. We asked them to stop the launch of the game and clean up all references to Italians and Italian-Americans,” he wrote in a letter to DiMino Take- Two are quoted from Gamasutra, Thursday (19/08/2010).

What is said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two? According to him, the subject of the game Mafia II has repeatedly raised in the film, television and novels for decades. In fact, according to Zelnick, no member of the Unico who has seen or played Mafia II. This is because the game does not yet exist in the market.

If you play the game just has not, is it appropriate for such an objection filed by DiMino et al?
